The program provides a five year structured program of training and employment to prepare you for highly paid skilled trades. By combining on-the-job training under the supervision of experienced journeymen workers, completion of the program allows you to become a highly valued journeyman with certificates from the Department of Labor. Completion of an associates degree is also possible through the program.
First year apprenticeship pay begins at $18.21 an hour and increases yearly. After finishing the program, journeymen typically earn more than $35.00 an hour.
As well as the apprenticeship program for the various trades, a 17 week pre-apprenticeship in welding is available. Completing the 17 week pre-apprenticeship program after high school can then allow you to enter the full apprenticeship program at a second year (and pay) level.
